This guide is a quick set of troubleshooting steps that identify issues with the cameras and how to resolve common issues with the Silo Cameras.

Terms:

  • What is the PC / Computer?
    • It is the box that sits on the desk.  It is what performs all of the work.
  • What is the Monitor?
    • It is the "Screen" used to "monitor" what the PC is doing.  Multiple monitors may be attached to the same PC.
  • What is a wall socket?
    • The electrical opening in the wall to provide power to devices.
  • What is a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)?
    • It is the battery backup that sits on the floor.
  • What is the Camera Server?
    • This is the device in the (Dryer Ops / Lab) Room that says "Razberi" on it.

In order of most common to least common:

  • All Silo Cameras cannot be seen on the monitors in the Scale House
    • If you can't turn the PC on:
      • Verify this by checking the PC's power LED indicator light.
      • If there is no power, hold down the power button for 30 seconds.  Let go of button.  Press quickly once.  If the PC fails to start up then go to the next step.
      • If there is no power unplug both ends of the power cable and then plug them back in.
      • Some PCs have PSU with a power switch on the back.  Toggle this switch to verify that you are receiving power to the PSU.  As a convenience some PSUs have a green light to indicate that they are receiving power.  This light can be found on the back of the PC where the power plug goes into the PC.
      • Ensure that the breaker hasn't been flipped or if there are fuses to verify no fuses have been blown.
      • If there is still no power try other outlets, power cables, and by testing other devices in the same wall socket to verify that there is power coming from the outlet.  You can also use a multi-meter to determine if there is enough power coming from the outlet or too much. Set the multi-meter to Voltage such that it is measuring up to 120V.  You should see ~110V.
      • If the power cable is plugged in to a power strip (throw the power strip away and replace it with a surge protector).  Old Power strips do not have the third "prong" or "grounding plug" with no individual sockets these almost completely don't exist anymore.  New Power strips now look like surge protectors (because they have the grounding plug) but they do not contain the embedded fuse still.  These should also not be used if being used for PC use.
      • If it is plugged into a surge protector (these have grounding plugs and an embedded fuse).  They will also have the third grounding plug that goes into the wall socket. Ensure that the power switch on the surge protector is on.  Some of these just say "reset" on one side.  By toggling the switch most modern surge protectors have a light indicator when it is in the "on" state.  If uncertain try each mode and try to turn the PC on.  If it still fails it is possible that the fuse is burnt and the surge protector needs to be replaced with a new one.  To verify this temporarily bypass the surge protector and connect the power cord directly into the wall socket.  Once confirmed then purchase a replacement surge protector or UPS (Uninterruptible power supply) which is a surge protector + battery backup + in some cases (sine wave inverter)
      • When replacing a UPS there is a compatible USB cable and UPS management software that is recommended to be installed on the PC such that the PC is aware of the longevity and current capacity of the UPS battery.
      • If all of the above is correct but there is still an issue with getting the PC to power on replace the PSU (Power Supply Unit) inside of the PC.  This procedure should be done by the IT department.  If you're experiencing a power issue and you've made it this far contact IT by sending an email to support@flashtrucking.com with a subject line of "PSU replacement request".
    • Ensure that the monitors are ON
      • Ensure that the monitors are on by verifying that they have a stand by "amber" light.  When they receive a video signal the amber light should switch to blue".  If the monitor is receiving power but is off the LED will be Red.  Turn the monitor ON using the monitor's physical power button.
    • If the monitors are OFF
      • In this case you do not see the "Red" light indicating that there is power but the monitor is off.
        • Unplug and replug both ends of the power cable.  Perform the same steps regarding power as described in "Can't turn the PC ON".
        • If after performing these steps and the monitors still fail to turn on contact support@flashtrucking.com with a subject line of "STF Scale House Monitors No Power".
    • If you CAN turn the PC on:
      • Ensure that the "WiseNet" application is open.
        • Double-click on the cameras that should be on each respective monitor.  This will automatically place the camera views right next to each other.
        • Success! You should be able to see the Silo Cameras
      • You're unable to Open the WiseNet Application
        • Send an email to support@flashtrucking.com with the subject link "URGENT Unable to Open WiseNet Application".  Add details in message body.
      • You're able to Open the WiseNet application but even after double-clicking on "Silo 1, Silo 2, Silo 3 Silo 4" you still can't access the cameras.
        • Perform an IP scan on the 192.168.50/24 subnet to verify that you are able to reach the host camera devices and the SonicWall
        • Ping test all camera hosts

          • Open the server address in Firefox
            • https://192.168.50.52
            • You should see a login prompt
            • If you don't see anything or see an error
              • Reboot the Razberi Server
              • Your issue still isn't resolved
