Purpose of Document: Resolve error message

Error: An Outlook signature of this name already exists in Outlook's
global pool. Please rename the signature using the web client.

Prerequisites: Outlook Installed, Access to Zimbra Webmail

Steps:

The cause of this issue is that there are 2 identically named signatures between Outlook and the WebClient but each signature does not have the same identifier making it appear to be 2 different signatures with the same name and fails to sync.

To resolve, rename or remove from the Outlook mail client or the web client.  Check the error message for the recommended action.

ERROR:

An Outlook signature of this name already exists in Outlook's
global pool. Please rename the signature using the web client.

In this case the recommendation is to rename the signature from the web client. A webmail client is a mail app that runs within your internet browser window instead of its own standalone desktop application.

To do this, first open the web client.  Instructions can be found here:

Once signed in, “make sure that you are in the classic view”.

If you are in the modern view it will look like this.  Note: you can get to the same settings in the modern view but they are not documented here.

Click on “preferences

Click on “Signatures” from the left-hand navigation menu.

Rename the signatures and click “Save”.

Open Outlook

Click on the “Send/Receive” tab

Click “Send/Receive” all folders to verify.
