Power on the PC.
The Computer or "PC" is the box that resides either under or above the desk.
To "see" or "monitor" what the box is doing we require a "monitor" or "screen" to see what is happening.
Each of these devices have their own individual power buttons and will both need to be turned on to fully function properly.  The "Monitor's" power button can be found here.  It will go blue if it detects a signal from the PC.  If it is "amber" it is not detecting a signal from the PC and the PC may need to be turned on.
To turn on the PC the power button can be found here.  Note that there is a light indicator on the power button.  No light indicates that the PC is off.  A flashing white light indicates that it is asleep.  A solid white light indicates that it is powered on.
Some computers have an additional power switch located on the back of the PC Tower/Case that will need to be toggled ON before the front power button will work.
Click on "Other User".  Below the password field it should say something similar to "sign in to FLASH"
If you don't see the "sign into FLASH" change your username ie. Jon Smith would be "jsmith" but if it doesn't have the correct domain it should be "FLASH\jsmith".  This will ensure that you're signing as an employee.
